Job description
RAF Regiment Officers specialise in ground combat and security operations , using advanced surveillance systems and weaponry to provide round the clock protection to RAF aircraft , operating bases and personnel ; at home and overseas . Typical responsibilities include : Leading a flight of around 30 Gunners to protect RAF aircraft , people and bases , on peacekeeping , counter terrorist and Force Protection operational deployments .

Pay During training - £ 27,200 + Benefits Initial pay after training - £ 31,800 + Benefits

Age
Open to men and women aged between 17 ½ and 47 years of age ( civilian candidates must enter Initial Officer Training before their 48th birthday ) Upper age limit does not apply for the Commissioned Warrant Officer scheme .

Qualifications
Qualifications you need : 5 GCSEs ( or acceptable equivalents ) of Grade C or above ( Grade 4 to 5 with effect from Aug 17 ), including English Language and Mathematics . Plus at least 2 A2 Levels / 3 Highers at Grade C or above ( excluding General Studies or Critical Thinking ) which must total a minimum of 64 UCAS points . Alternatively , if you hold a UK degree at Grade 2:2 or higher ( or acceptable alternative ), you only need English Language and Mathematics GCSEs at a minimum of Grade C ( Grade 4 to 5 with effect from Aug 17 ), SCE at a minimum of Grade 2 or SNE at Grade 5 . Qualifications you will gain : Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management .
Nationality
You must be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland , a holder of dual UK / other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth .
Residency
Whether or not you were born in the United Kingdom , you should have resided there for the 5 years immediately preceding your application .
