PHOTOSHOOT.
I decided to have my photo-shoot located at the Horse and Groom pub in Wilmington, which is in my area. I researched locations that were in my local area that had a white brick wall; I then researched the Horse and Groom and thought it was the perfect location for my campaign. Before I did my photo-shoot, I emailed the pub and asked if I was able to do my photo-shoot on their grounds, they replied and said that it was absolutely fine. The pub has a white brick wall surrounding the pub, which really fits in with my theme; in the pub garden there are also some really nice flower walls that would suit my brand really well. Before my photo-shoot took place, I went into Primark and bought some basic plain items that my models could wear. Four of my friends kindly agreed to help with my photo-shoot; Barney, Georgia, Holly and Luke all really suit the style of my brand, which I thought worked perfectly.
Personally I think that the photo-shoot went really well, we went to the pub early in the morning so that it was before their opening times. I styled all of the outfits for the shoot, I had to ensure that all of the garments were exactly what I would want in my collection, while we was at the location we found a large shipping container that really suited the background for some of the pictures. I think the location was perfect for the photo-shoot because at the pub there were a couple of different backgrounds I could have used. We were also very lucky with the weather, the sky was quite grey which works really well with my brand and it didn’t rain which was very lucky.
One problem I did face was that even though the location wasn’t open, there were still quite a few cars within the car park; this then limited us to space. Another problem we faced was that one of my friends didn’t have a plain white top, so in a couple of the pictures he is wearing a top with a slogan on, however then half way through the photo- shoot to resolve this problem we changed his top around so that it was just a plain white top.
I think if I was to do my photo-shoot again I would try and incorporate more people to show how diverse my brand is and how it suits everyone. I think I also needed to have more outfit choices, so that the images really represented how my collection would actually look. If I were to do it again I would also try and get a personal photographer so that the images are a lot more sleek and professional.
Overall, I am so pleased with how my photo-shoot has turned out; this is a massive turning point for my project because now I can complete all of my tasks that I needed my pictures for. I think the images that I have captured really convey my brand well, and are exactly how I want my brand to look.
