Breaking New Ground: Could you see the chalkboard in a dark classroom? Could you focus on the day’s lesson with water leaking onto your desk? Could you sit through 4 hours of school without a bathroom break? Environment has a big impact on a child’s ability to learn. The decades old infrastructure in Central Asia continues to crumble, battered by some of the harshest environments in the world, and our partners are busy fulfilling requests for new construction and repairs, like these: Ray-e-Abisham Primary School: Don’t let whole generations of girls drop out of school instead of furthering their futures at Ray-e-Abisham Primary School. Construction Needed: $40,000 Diamer High School: Help us ensure that the conservative communities around Diamer will not forbid their daughters from receiving a formal education because of poor conditions. Essential Repairs Needed: $6,000 Garhill Preschool: Take action, so children as young as 2 years old don’t have to huddle in a smoky house, or sit outside with nothing to protect them from the elements except a flimsy tent. Construction Needed: $20,000 Kishmanjo Foot Bridge: Without your support, children of Koye will watch the children of Kishmanjo, on the opposite side of an impassable river, get an education without them. Essential Repairs Needed: $1,500 Nine Pakistan Schools: Give girls and boys the best chance to succeed by providing structural repairs to make classrooms safe, updating buildings, and ensuring overall integrity of aging projects. Essential Repairs Needed: $24,500 These crucial capital projects are just the tip of the iceberg. This year alone, we need to raise $250,000 to repair, expand, and construct imperative projects that will make a noticeable impact on student success. We hope you will be inspired to give by reading about just a few of the projects we hope to accomplish this year. 2 | CENTRAL ASIA INSTITUTE
