about re-structuring the playing squad and the effect was felt
immediately with an impressive run that has seen the club
battling at the top end of what is proving to be an extremely
competitive competition.
On top of that, the club has experienced a superb record-
breaking run in the FA Trophy, non-league’s premier cup
competition, defeating higher placed opposition such as
Workington and Weymouth along the way.
Whilst promotion back to the Evo-Stik Premier, where the
club enjoyed a couple of seasons not too long ago is the main
focus of attention, the Trophy run has really improved the
club’s profile, with smiles appearing on the ever-increasing
number of supporters after three or four undistinguished
seasons.
Whilst most of the attention is focussed on the First
team, Ramsbottom United can be genuinely regarded as a
community club. The thriving Junior section encompasses
39 teams within the 6-21 age group, with a number of Junior
players forcing their way into First team contention in the last
couple of years.
