Eyemouth United
Atmosphere
“The club, as a whole is very positive and willing to support
me to push the club forward on and off the field. It has been
a very difficult year for the 1st team as the East of Scotland
League are going through a period of transition in developing
the SFA pyramid system.
This has been a great challenge to the 1st team who have to
compete with clubs from the Junior Leagues. With improved
performances each week coupled with new recruitments
to both the playing and management team and interaction
between members of the community and most importantly
assisting development of our youth programme there is a good
atmosphere at the club.”

This Season
“I feel we are gradually nearing towards getting our 1st
points in the league, over the past few weeks the players have
shown great belief and ability to finally compete in matches
and if we can continue to eliminate the early mistakes we will
start to pick up points.
Our under 13s are in a cup final against Kelso having won
in the semi-final 12-2. The 15s and under 16s also play in the
Edinburgh Leagues and are competing very well. Our under
15s also have a trip organised to play in a football competition
in Spain and visit the Nou Camp.
We want to continue to recruit players, build towards
next season, pick up points and regularly engage with our
youth teams and coaches throughout the club and to build a
sustainable progression and framework for all the players and
wider community.”
Youth
“Youth football is vitally important to the success of the club
and through my vision along with the club’s to develop local
talent and progress local talent into the 1st team this can be
achieved through mechanisms such as our recently appointed
Scouts, Coaching meetings between all the coaches in the club,
myself and Ross delivering sessions for the youth teams each
month and the implementation of an under 20s Team in the
Lowland Development League which will create an exciting
pathway for our young players in and around Eyemouth to
progress their careers into senior football.”
Community
“We are absolutely 100% a community club; we are currently
progressing on a development project that will hopefully see
the installation of a 3G pitch, floodlights and 350 seated stand

at Warner Park which will be an excellent facility for the not
just our current club teams but also for the wider community to
train and play each week. This new development will certainly
put the club up there with many top facilities around the
country allowing much improved community involvement.”
Challenges/Ambitions
“Our biggest challenges will be a lack of funding from
the government, children moving away from conventional
sports and meeting the financial commitment to ensure
the club’s progression. It is our ambition to implement the
ground improvements (3G Pitch, Floodlights, 350 Seated
Stand), become a Licenced Club within the Scottish Football
Association Framework, secure entry into the Scottish Cup
and create an additional team into the Lowland Development
League (Under 20s).”
