Howard told us, “I first played at Tring Athletic FC as a fifteen-year-old and thought it time to put something back into the local Game. As Chairman the biggest challenge is to help take the Club to the next step in the football hierarchy and to make it a more effective business.” “The mood here is very positive at the moment with ambitions to progress. The Club currently runs five teams, all of which are doing well and the First Team is challenging for promotion. Our plans extend beyond this season and we are in the process of putting together a detailed business plan. “Youth football is going to be vital to develop a genuine community club. This year the under 16 team of the junior club, Tring Tornadoes have become the Under 17 team of Tring Athletic and this will be on going to create a progression for junior talent. “The intention is to create ‘FC of Tring’ whereby we harness all the local talent, boys and girls to show Tring to be an example of best footballing practice.
