FOOTBALL CLUB
I
t has been an exciting period for St Johnstone as they continue to
compete for a place near the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Club Representative Gary Henderson recently took the time to
speak to Football Focus Magazine to provide an insight into their recent
success.
FF: How’s the general mood down at
the club at the moment?
GH: There’s a real feel good factor
around the club at the moment and it
all kicked off with a busy and exciting
summer transfer window. The club
brought in seven new players and reduced
the age of the squad considerably. We
added proven attacking talent in Tony

Danny Swanson. There was also a lot

young centre back - who had returned
from a loan spell at QoS in January of
last year and had established himself as
a key figure in the first-team.

keeping six clean sheets on the bounce,
winning 6 out of 8 matches. Back-to-back
defeats against Motherwell and Rangers
followed but we regained our form for
the final two matches of 2018 with away
victories at St. Mirren and Dunde.
The team picked up where they left
off at the beginning of this year with a
win against Hamilton in the Scottish
Cup and victory over Livingston in the
first league match back after the winter
break. The club also welcomed Michael
O’Halloran back to the club after his
departure from Melbourne City adding
even more firepower to the manager’s
attack.
FF: How would you say the season has
gone for the club so far?
GH: It’s been a great season not
just for Saints but for Scottish Football
in general. The league has been very
competitive and it’s been very exciting
to watch. From the club’s point of view,
the difference in the squad’s average
age coupled with the exciting attacking
and flair players the manager has at his
