Holbeach United
FOOTBALL CLUB
Holbeach United FC was first established in 1929, when they
joined the King’s Lynn League and has gone on to put together
a history of which they have every right to be proud since then.
One of their first major honours came when they won a League
Cup in the 1964/65 season.
In the 1982/83 season they reached
the first round of the FA Cup for the
first time and took on Third Division
side Wrexham. They won the United
Counties League Premier Division in
1990, also winning the League Cup
and Benevolent Cup to complete a
memorable treble. They won the title
again in the 2002/03 season.
In recent times they have enjoyed
plenty of success in the Lincolnshire
Senior Trophy, winning it in 2011/12
before retaining the trophy the following
year and also winning the league for a
third time. They won the Trophy again
in 2018 and their current group of
players will no doubt be keen to add to
these successes over the coming years.

At present, the club is based on
Park Road in Lincolnshire and their
first team currently competes in the
Premier Division of the United Counties
League. They are led by President
Dennis Sparrow who is supported by
Secretary James McMartin and the club
is progressing well under their guidance.
So far this season their first team has
been in good form in the league, putting
together a record of fourteen wins, three
draws and six defeats from their twenty-
three matches. This sees them sitting
near the top of the table with forty-five
points on the board.
This should provide them with the
perfect platform from which to go on
and put together a successful season. As
long as they are able to keep their current
group of players together and do not
suffer any serious injuries they should be
in with a good chance of doing just that.
It will certainly be interesting to see how
they get on in their remaining games.
One of the highlights of the team’s
performances so far this season has been
the attacking brand of football that they
have been able to produce. This has
been reflected by the fact that they have
found the back of the net 47 times in the
league alone at a rate of more than two
per game.
This will certainly have meant that
any supporters attending their matches
will have been well entertained and
should encourage more of the local
