Youth
“Youth football is very important to
the club. The community club is in the
process of building new teams but at the
moment there isn’t any teams of the age
that can step up to junior football. To
help ensure that young players enjoy a
smooth transition into the senior game
we try to involve the youth teams here
by inviting them to come and be mascots
or take part in a session before kick off
to help them to continue to develop and
to show them that they could play here
when they are older.”
Challenges/Ambitions
“Managing the financial side of the
club is an issue with all Junior clubs and
we just have to keep battling on. It is our
aim to go on to win the Super-League
and also to win the Junior Cup again.
We are always trying to better ourselves
and will continue to do so in the coming
years.”
There is much to admire about the
fine set up that Whitburn currently has
in place and this is thanks to all of the
hard work that goes into the club. If
they continue in the same manner then
they should be able to look forwards to
a bright and successful future for many
years to come.
