JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB
Whitburn JFC does a fantastic job of providing players from their
local community with an opportunity to enjoy the game in a safe and
enjoyable environment. Football Focus Magazine recently caught up
with Club Representative Ann Haddow to find out more about the
good work they’ve been carrying out lately.
Involvement
Ann told us, “I was a Whitburn
Junior supporter and then decided to
join the committee. I am now the club
secretary and have been in that role for
seven to eight years now. One of the
biggest challenges was being bottom of
the league and getting ourselves out of
it. The most rewarding thing was getting
promoted back into the Super League.”
Atmosphere
“We are quite happy at the moment
as we are sitting in 4th place in the
Super League. The season has been up
and down as we started off slowly due
to having a virtually new team which
needed time to gel. We then had a run
of five straight wins which boosted the
whole club and now hope to at least
consolidate our position in the league
if not better it over the remainder of the
season.”
