high standards and finding ongoing
sponsorship/advertising to cover their
costs in today’s economic climate is
difficult.
It is a bit chicken and egg for if you
get success it is easier to find sponsorship
and is why Chertsey have only just now
launched their Sponsorship/Advertising
Programme for the 2018/19 season
some seven weeks in. It is imperative to
show we are aiming to be successful and
local businesses can benefit by having a
successful club in the town.
Within the club the mood has changed
immensely and the committee are now
smiling seeing the improvements within
the ground and success on the pitch after
some fifteen years struggling. Supporters
from years gone by are returning and
there is a desire to help the club succeed
in the future. An increase in gates is a big
factor to securing the club for coming
seasons.
Introducing Kerry Goodhind
Chertsey Town FC brings glamour and musical talent to the ground
with the sponsorship of UK singer-songwriter, Kerry Goodhind.
Introducing Kerry Goodhind – a face Chertsey Town
FC fans will have seen on perimeter boards around the
pitch, and soon to be a voice you’ll hear everywhere, as
this UK singer/songwriter unleashes her spectacular
voice to a global audience.
Initially spotted by BBC Introducing, the past couple
of years have been a cascade of TV, radio and
live slots for Kerry Goodhind, including a live TV
performance for BBC Spotlight, regular interviews on
BBC Introducing Cornwall and appearances at the
Royal Cornwall Show and Port Eliot.
Now, with a glittering collection of self-penned original
material, Kerry Goodhind has joined forces with
Chertsey Town’s previous chairman, Dave Rayner, as
a way of fusing budding music talent with snowballing
football success. Dave has returned to the club this
year with a focus on restructuring the football.
“Football and music always go hand-in-hand,”
comments Mr Rayner, “from the terrace chants to
the half time entertainment. So I’m bringing the heart
and soul of one of the UK’s rising music stars into the
heart of our club. We can rise together.”
With a string of singles and an all-original debut
album, entitled ‘Elevated’, planned for next Spring,
Kerry Goodhind is a fresh UK talent to watch out for.

An artist with a life-map abundant with wisdom, Kerry
Goodhind waited until the time was right to pen lyric-
rich songs which held resonance and meaning – the
empty superficial love-song route just wasn’t enough
for her. Kerry needed the maturity and experience to
write from her own personal encounters in life. So she
waited, and the wait was oh so worth it!
At the age of 30, Kerry had penned enough tracks to
make up her first unofficial album - and industry interest
rapidly began to snowball. BBC introducing instantly
sat up and noticed, pulling Kerry into numerous live
shows such as the prestigious Royal Cornwall Show
- her fanbase was now growing. A close label-signing
with Sony Classics gave Kerry the impetus to set up
her own label and to write her official debut album –
which will be released next Spring.
But Kerry’s also fully behind her Chertsey Town boys
– singing them on to that Cup success.
Kerry Goodhind’s new single, ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ is out
now.
