Barton Town
FOOTBALL CLUB
Barton Town Old Boys FC was established in 1995
following a merger between Barton Town and Barton
Old Boys. The new team took Barton Town’s place in the
Lincolnshire League and highlighted their potential by
finishing in fourth place in their first season.
They followed this up by winning
the league the following season before
finishing as runners up in both 1997-98
and 1998-99. They then made the move to
the Humber Premier League for one year
before joining the Premier Division of
the Central Midlands League. Soon after,
they were promoted to the Supreme
Division before being promoted to
Division One of the North Counties East
League and the 2010-2011 season saw
them promoted to the Premier Division.
The club was renamed Barton Town
in 2017 and their first team currently
competes in the Northern Counties
East Premier League. They are led by
Chair Mark Gregory who is supported
by Secretary Peter Mitchell and the
44 Issue 81
club is looking to progress under their
guidance.
So far this season their first team has
put together a solid league campaign,
compiling a record of seven wins,
five draws and five defeats from their
seventeen matches. This sees them
sitting in a safe mid-table position with
twenty-six points on the board.
This should provide them with a
good platform from which to build in
the second half of the season. As long
as they are able to retain their current
group of players and can make one or
two quality additions they should be in
with a good chance of pushing on up the
league.
The team received a boost recently
when they secured the future of Donald
Chimalilo for the rest of the campaign.
Chimalilo has been in fine form this
season and had started to attract interest
from some big clubs before signing a
contract.

club and I feel I’ll gain more opportunities
staying at the club and I feel I’ll keep
