Bedlington Bedlington FOOTBALL CLUB Bedlington Football Club was originally formed in 2017 following the successful merger of Bedlington Town FC, Bedlington Juniors and Hazelmere United. Their first team currently competes in Division 1 of the Northern Football Alliance and are led by Chairman Michael Quigley who is supported by Secretary Karl Porter. The club is looking to progress under their guidance. Bedlington FC is committed to playing an important role in their local community and state on their official website www. bedlingtonfc.org that their aim is to, “Provide an experience of being able to participate in sport, where inclusion is at the heart of what we represent and where girls, boys, men and women play under the same ethos. It is where friendships are created between players and parents alike, in a safe and enjoyable environment.” So far this season their men’s first team has been enjoying a positive league campaign, putting together a record of ten wins, one draw and four defeats from their fifteen matches. This sees them sitting in the top half of the table with thirty-one points on the board. This should provide the club with a fine platform from which to build as they prepare for 2019. As long as they are able to retain their current group of players and can perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be in with a good chance of pushing on up the league. One of the highlights of the team’s performances so far this season has been the attacking brand of football that they have been able to produce. This has been reflected by the fact that they have found the back of the net 44 times at a rate of nearly three per game. This will certainly have meant that any supporters attending their matches will have been well entertained and should encourage more of the local community to get behind www.footballfocusmag.com 37
