has seen us reach the 2nd preliminary
qualifying round of the SSE Women’s
FA Cup and we were narrowly beaten
by Leeds United in extra time. The
league started well with three wins out
of four games.
“We are a community club and
with the impending build of a 3G pitch
and clubhouse it will bring us closer
together. We currently have a good
relationship with Alnwick Rugby Club

who are for example kindly providing
training facilities for our girls section
until the 3G pitch is built. We also have
a close relationship with the Duchess
Community High School, who, subject
to agreement, will be using our facilities
in term time.
“One of our biggest challenges will be
developing the use of the new facilities to
ensure youth football is easily accessible.
Another challenge will be establishing a
coaching pathway to help our volunteers
and encourage more of them to give us
their time.
“Our ambition is to expand the
female section of the club and provide
a development pathway similar to the
men’s. With the new facilities that will be
available at the junior sections pitch site,
we will be able to provide state of the art
football facilities for the youth of North
Northumberland and become a football
centre of excellence.”
