Rothbury Morris Adamson of Rothbury Family Butchers recently took the time to tell us more about his positive association with the club, saying, “Rothbury Family Butchers are an international award-winning butchers and delicatessen that have been open for almost nineteen years now. We’ve sponsored Rothbury over a number of years; I’ve bought some kids football shirts and also sponsor some individual matches. I also coach the U14s side there now as well. I played for them when I first moved from Berwick and made some lifelong friends at the club. I go down to watch the first team whenever I can and take my side down as well as I think it helps them to have something to aspire to. The first team play some fantastic football and are flying at the moment which is great to see with most of the players being local to the village. I feel very privileged to have played for Rothbury and wish them the best of luck for the future.” forward but we also have an enormous amount of work still to do in terms of new and improved facilities. Things don’t happen by magic or overnight! We hope to have further positive news to share with you all in the coming weeks. “The General Committee cannot stress enough how important this is to Rothbury Football Club. We have long considered making the step up to the Northern Alliance and now we have the opportunity to make that a reality. Matching our facilities with the high quality of our pitch will put Rothbury in contention as one of the best grassroots footballing locations in the North East.” So far this season the team has made a positive start in their new surroundings, putting together a record of eleven wins, two draws and one defeat from fourteen matches. This sees them sitting just behind the leaders and if they keep up their recent form they are sure to find themselves top of the pile before long. Their performances so far this season should provide them with a perfect platform from which to go on and have a successful campaign. As long as they keep their current group of players together they will have an excellent chance of going on to mount a serious championship challenge. Rothbury FC is clearly a club with exciting plans to continue developing and if they keep up their good work they should be able to look forwards to a bright and successful future for many years to come. Everyone at Football Focus Magazine would like to take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck.
