This sees them sitting near the top of the table with thirty-six points on the board. This should provide them with a solid platform from which to build as they look ahead to the rest of their campaign. As long as they are able to retain their current group of players they will be in with a good chance of going on to mount a serious title challenge. One of the highlights of the team’s performances has been the attacking brand of football that they have been able to produce. This has been reflected by the fact that they have found the back of the net 61 times in the league alone at a rate of more than three per game. This in turn has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue which is particularly important in the current financial climate. Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with their Chairman Jed Hewitt to find out more about the good work being carried out at the club. He told us, “I have been involved for ten years and wanted to link Moors Youth FC into men’s football as a feeder club (Fa Chartered Development Club).” “The most rewarding parts of my role are seeing the club progress forward and the development of local young players to play at the highest level they can. “The mood at the club is very positive with three teams gaining promotion last season and that has moved forward to this season with three teams unbeaten in their new leagues. The plan is to get the second team closer to the 1st team so there is a natural feed between the two teams and bring through any other players that are good enough from the 18s and 3rd team. “Youth football is very important to the club. We have always been about developing young players which is why we partnered up with Moors Youth, a very progressive and organised club always setting standards on and off the pitch. “We are a community club and encourage other groups to use the club’s facilities. For example, the blind club, the deaf club, head injury groups and many more use the facilities. The club’s ambition is to relocate to a larger ground to accommodate us all under one facility in order to allows us to continue to progress.”
