Bush Hill locally for the National programme “ Park Lives ” putting on free weekly training sessions for Children aged from four to twelve on the clubs ground . We have an average attendance of sixty on Match Days with most if not all coming back to our Club House , ‘ The Saints Pub ’ opposite the ground , inviting interaction between players and spectators .
“ We host three Charity Football Matches throughout the year raising over 10k for local charities ... when we leased the land for our ground I was intent on making a facility accessible to all within this Community and I believe we have delivered exactly that , increasing usage of the Park by many thousands of people .
“ Our ambition has always been to bring Step 5 football to the heart of this Community , historically the area has produced some great footballers who when reaching senior level had to go out of area to play a ‘ decent ’ standard of football which diluted friendships .
“ Non-league football is too focused on facilities opposed to ability and our biggest challenge is to gain funding to meet the Step 5 criteria and progress to the Wessex League . To do so we will need to secure a massive £ 83,126.00 . We have no rich benefactor to gift us that sum so will seek assistance from the Football Foundation and Sport England . We know we can compete with teams playing in the higher divisions as evidenced by our progression in the Russell Coates Cup and our preseason results against Wessex teams .
“ By 2020 , we aim to have achieved Step 5 Status and have teams in all ages of Youth Football ; we are currently represented in the age groups U9 ’ s / 10 ’ s / 11 ’ s / 12 ’ s / 14 ’ s / 15 ’ s with two senior sides . It has been a fantastic journey for the Club since forming in 2002 joining the Southampton League Junior 5 .
“ Since then , not only have we enjoyed back to back promotions with eleven league title wins , we also made history winning the Southampton Premier League a record five consecutive seasons , being the only team to do so since its formation in 1908 . However , despite the journey , we are yet to reach our destination and the hard work by all associated to the club will continue until we do .”
