Leek Town Leek Town FOOTBALL CLUB Leek Town FC is based at Harrison Park on Macclesfield Road in Staffordshire and their first team currently competes in the First Division South of the Evo-Stik League. They are led by the team of President Duncan Bray and Chairman Jon Eelees and the club is looking to progress under their guidance. Their first team put together a solid campaign this time around, compiling a record of eighteen wins, ten draws and fourteen defeats from their forty two matches. This saw them finish in the top half of the table with sixty four points on the board. This should provide them with a perfect platform from which to build as they look ahead to the new campaign. As long as they are able to retain their current group of players and can perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be in with a good chance of pushing on up the league. Manager Neil Baker is happy with how the squad is developing as he explained to the Post and Times after the signing of Niall Green, saying, “We have quite a few experienced players at the club, so it was important to bring the average age down a little and the signing of Niall will help to do that. “But we also have the likes of Mackenzie Faulkner, Alex Morris and Jonny Higham, who are all young and on Sunday I was able to agree terms with Rob Stevenson to stay at the club, so I am quite happy with that.” “The basis of the squad is there, but I am still talking to one or two players and hopefully, I might have another signed by the end of the week, so it is starting to come together.” Leek Town is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section and this is reflected by the fact that they also have a number of youth sides in place. These teams look to provide young players from the local community with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is clearly an exciting time to be involved with Leek Town and this is thanks to all of the hard work that has gone into making them a success. Hopefully they will be able to continue in the same manner for many years to come and everyone at Football Focus Magazine wishes them the best of luck.
