We changed the formation around
to play to the strengths of our front
three of Jon Parkin, Vadaine Oliver
and Amari Morgan-Smith, and since
then our attacking threat has increased
dramatically, and all three have pitched
in with valuable goals. The system has
also meant we’ve moved to a three-
man defence too, which has left us
more defensively stable and our goal
difference has improved as a result in
recent months. Of course, our first
plan is to stay up! Following on
from that, we want to perform to
as high a standard as possible in
the league next season.”

Wembley
“Making it to Wembley has had
a massive impact, we’ve been lucky
at this club to have been to Wembley
four times already since it re-opened in
2007, with the FA Trophy Final the 5th
trip we’ll be making. I wasn’t here for the
previous trips, but I’ve seen the pictures
and heard the stories of the days, and they
have all been special days in the history of
the football club.”

for sure; our Under 18s have had a terrific
Community
“We do consider ourselves a
community club for sure, our Foundation
does its part in reaching out to the local
community and trying to get children
involved with York City. Also, we have
offered a couple of ticketing promotions
this season to reach out to the community
and get some more fans through
the door, which have proven to be
successful.
We’ve also launched a new
Youth Council to help us engage
with our younger fans, and we’re
moving to a new Community
Stadium, which is due to be ready
in December 2018, which will be
available for use for the whole local
community in a variety of guises.”
Ambitions
out-perform the status of the club as it
stands, with Championship, League One
and League Two academy teams making
up that division.”
“First and foremost, our main
ambition is staying up this season. From
then on, we want to regain our Football
League status as quickly as possible and
build for a brighter future in our new
stadium.”
