FC Brimingtons concept became more of a quest for cliff in 2006 after three successful years at Sheffield
University men’s football team, winning the league and cup in this period. Cliff was going on a Eurocamp family
holiday too Spain at parc playa bara near Salou in 2006; they took a day trip too Barcelona and a subsequent
visit to FCBarcelonas stadium the Nou Camp that first gave birth to the clubs name and its badging.
Progress was swift FCBs First ground was Boundary park on the South Yorkshire/Derbyshire border then
entering the Blades Super Draw league in Sheffield, a sponsored league by Sheffield United Football Club.
With a young team cliff taught the cruyff system of play total football this proved to be a clever move which
was to set FCB apart.
FCB then controversially agreed a move into Sandy Lane Worksop at the time Worksop Towns FC was no
longer playing there in a dispute with their former chairman Howard Raymond. The club achieved some
success on the field but financially, with no fans visiting the Sandy Lane ground with the local community calling
on all Worksop folks to boycott the ground, it was decided to fold in November 2010 and move out of Worksop.
