The season got off to a slow
start, with the team getting
a couple of draws before a
run of four defeats.
In October, the club chairman Brian Hope was
diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer. The news
was a huge blow to everyone at the club. Brian was the
founder of the club in the mid 1970’s and has seen the
team progress from playing in the local pub league to
then be admitted into the Border Amateur League in
1980. Promotion to the top division was gained after
two seasons and the club have never been relegated
since, a statistic that Brian was very proud of.
