FOOTBALL CLUB
Whitchurch Alport FC is a fine example of a progressive club with some
exciting plans in place for the future. Football Focus Magazine recently
caught up with their Chairman Andy Hough to find out more about the
good work the club has been doing lately.
Involvement
“I originally had dealings with
Whitchurch Alport mainly due to my
roles as Ground Vetting Chairman, Vice
Chairman and Secretary of the Step 7
Cheshire League of which they were
a member of, until 2012. I was always
impressed in how the Club was run both
on and off the field.
I started working with the Club in 2006,
through a charity football competition
which I was the Secretary of. The Club
approached me when they decided
to apply for the North West Counties
League. The Club needed a Chairman
that had knowledge and experience of
working at a high level and someone who
could drive the club forward in its first
few seasons at Step 6.”
The Role
“I have chaired this club as if it
was a business from day 1. The most
challenging thing has been to build a
