So far this season , it would be fair to say that their first team has not perhaps put together the campaign they would have liked having won eight , drawn six and lost twenty of their thirty four league matches . This has left them hovering just above the relegation places with thirty points on the board .
They will now be looking to put together a good run of results in order to retain their league status . As long as they are able to retain their current group
of players and perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be in with a good chance of doing just that .
Welton Rovers is a club that is committed to providing as many people as possible in their local community with an opportunity to play the game . This is reflected by the fact that they also run a reserve side which competes in Division 1 East of the Somerset County League .
A major benefit of having a 2nd team in place is that it allows the first XI to benefit from far greater strength in depth . If they are ever left short on numbers through injury or work commitments they have the option of calling players up with a limited amount of disruption .
Welton Rovers struggles on the field should not take away from the good work being carried out at the club . Football Focus Magazine wishes them the best of luck for the future .
