Bromsgrove Sporting FOOTBALL CLUB

Based at The Victoria Ground on Birmingham Road in Worcestershire , Bromsgrove Sporting FC ’ s first team currently competes in the Midland Football League Division 1 . They are led by the team of President Jeff Rea and Chairman Mike Burke and the club has been progressing well under their guidance .
So far this season they have been in outstanding form , having put together a record of nineteen wins and five draws from their twenty four matches . This has left them sitting proudly atop the table with sixty two points on the board .
They are in a terrific position to go on and claim the league title and there is a confidence among the players that they have the ability to do so . Being crowned champions would be a just reward for all of the hard work that has gone into making the club a success .
One of the highlights of the team ’ s performances has been the attacking brand of football that they have been able to produce . This has been reflected by the fact that they have found the back of the net seventy four times at a rate of more than three per game .
This will certainly have meant that any supporters attending their matches will have been well entertained and should encourage more of the local community to get behind the side in the future . This in turn has the potential to provide them with a valuable source of additional revenue .
The team has also enjoyed a fantastic run in the FA Vase and are due to take on Cleethorpes Town over two legs in the semifinal with a trip to Wembley the reward for the winners .
They made it to this stage by defeating Buckland 2-0 thanks to goals from Liam Spink and Chris Lloyd . The match was watched by a record crowd of 2984 .
The club is committed to playing an important role in their local community and used their run in the FA Vase as an opportunity to supply residents of St John ’ s Court care home with free tickets for their match against Bristol Manor Farm . They joined just under 1,500 fans at the Victoria Ground on Saturday , January 28 .
Speaking to The Bromsgrove Advertiser after the match , care home manager Laura Wilkes , said , “ The ground was packed and the atmosphere was fantastic and this added to the enjoyment for Donald Clarke and Winnie Wilkes .”
“ Everyone had a fantastic time which was made even better by Bromsgrove beating Bristol Manor Farm 2-1 .
“ As always we are grateful to Paul and all at Bromsgrove Sporting for supporting us and inviting our ladies and gentlemen to the games - it makes such a difference to them .”
Bromsgrove Sporting is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and this is reflected by the fact that they also have a number of youth sides in place . These teams look to provide young players from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment .
It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period of time to be able to produce their own talent and this is an area that they appear to have covered . It will certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters are able to progress .
Bromsgrove Sporting FC is enjoying a season to remember this time around both in the league and the FA Vase . They will now be looking to turn their excellent performances into silverware and so long as they keep their level of performance up they appear to be in with a great chance .
