First established in 1937 , Colchester United FC started out life playing in the Southern Football League before being elected to the Football League in 1950 . Between then and the 1990s they spent most of their time in the Third and Fourth Division with one of their most famous victories being a 3-2 win over Leeds United in the FA Cup fifth round .
