FOOTBALL CLUB
A
ndover New Street FC plays
their home games at Foxcotte
Park in Hampshire and their
first team currently competes
in the Wessex League Division 1. They
are led by the team of President Graham
Waters and Chairman Martin Tobin
and are looking to progress under their
guidance.
So far this season it would be fair
to say that their first team has not put
together the campaign that t hey would
have liked, having compiled a record of 4
wins, 3 draws and 15 defeats from their
first 22 matches. This has left them sitting
near the bottom of the league with 15
points on the board.
They will be keen to put together a
good run of form over the course of their
remaining fixtures in order to pull away
from the bottom sides in the league.

This would help to provide them with a
platform from which to build as they look
to strengthen during the off-season.
One of the standout features of the
Andover New Street set up is the superb
youth section that they have in place.
This part of the club looks to provide
youngsters from the local area with an
opportunity to play the game in a safe and
enjoyable environment whilst helping
them to reach their full potential.
It is important for any side to be able
to produce their own talent, particularly
during the current financial climate and
this is an area that they appear to have
covered. It will certainly be exciting to see
how their juniors can progress over the
coming years.
Andover New Street’s commitment
to playing an important role in their local
community is further demonstrated by
the successful Ladies section that they
have. The team is currently competing in
the Southern Region Women’s Football
League First Division Northern.
They have put together a solid
campaign this time around and currently
sit in a safe mid-table position. The ladies
team pride themselves on giving any new
players a warm welcome and encourage
anyone interested to get in touch which is
a theme that runs throughout the club’s
set up.
Andover New Street’s disappointing
campaign at first team level should not
take away from the fantastic work that
has been getting done at the club in recent
times. It is this that should ensure that
they are able to look forwards to a bright
and successful future in the years to come.
