County’s Meadow Lane and Derby
County’s Pride Park Stadium have
been a particular highlight and again
emphasise what this club is about
and that’s opportunity.
FF: How would you say the season
has gone for the club?
AW: On the whole, great.
Sunday football is in a rapid decline
but we continue to see increased
participation and that’s helped by
having a strong group of volunteers
who help run things on a daily basis.
Obviously, winning trophies would
be great but just to have two adult
sides competing on a weekly basis is
a success in itself.
We again retained our FA Charter
Standard Adult Club accreditation
thus meaning we are shown as an
organised, open for all club that is
also maintaining standards with
the opportunity provided. Our
first team will again compete in
the Premier Division whilst our
2nd team, despite relegation from
Division 2 to Division 3, will have
hope of bouncing back next season.
FF: What are your plans for the rest
of 2019? FF: How important is youth football
to the club?
AW: Continue to promote
the club and continue to provide
opportunity. We are a very sociable
club and continue to create events
which include everyone. AW: Whilst we haven’t got a
youth set up now, we did briefly
have an U18 set up a few years back.
It would be brilliant to get a youth
section up and running, perhaps
with more than just an U18 side
but to do that you need willing and

“This is our third year sponsoring the club; one of our customers and
friends played for the club and went on to manage one of the teams. I
go to events at the club and also check their results on social media.
They are a good bunch of lads and we offer them a 10% discount so
a lot of the players are our customers. Keep training hard and working
well as a team and I’m sure you’ll do well this season. All the best!”
