Llandudno Speaking to the club’s official website after the signing was announced, Jones said, “Lee is a very experienced player who knows this club inside and out, we’re really happy to see him back here and he’s going to be important to us this season. “We have a mix of experience and youth in this squad and we’re really excited to see how the lads do in pre-season.” Thomas added, ““I’m really happy to be back and can’t wait to get going with the lads this season.” Llandudno is a club that works hard to play an important role in the local community and this is reflected in the strong community programme that they run through their non-profit organisation which states that it , “aims, through the immense communicative power of football, to bring about positive change to our local community. Based at Maesdu Park, the home of Llandudno Football Club, we have access to brand new, class leading facilities, including a fully operational computer suite and FIFA 2 STAR 3g football pitch. “Football is an incredibly powerful engagement tool, and the immense local, national, and international popularity of the sport means that it can be utilised to not only entertain people, but bring about positive change to local, national and international communities. At LLFCITC we aim to utilise the power of football and have developed a number of initiatives that target a wide variety of groups and tackle a number of local and national issues.” Llandudno FC also works hard to develop young players and this is reflected in the strong youth section that they have in place. This part of the club looks to provide young players from the local community with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period of time to be able to produce their own talent. Although Llandudno FC suffered the disappointment of relegation last season this should not take away from the good work being carried out at the club. If they continue in the same manner it should only be a matter of time before the club is successful once again. www.footballfocusmag.com 45
