Hungerford Town FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/FOOTYFOCUSMAG Hungerford Town FOOTBALL CLUB Hungerford Town FC has been working hard to progress in recent times. Football Focus Magazine recently caught up with Club Representative Patrick Chambers to find out more. He told us, “I have only recently become involved with the club and agreed to take on the chairman role. The club put out a call for some commercial help, which I responded to, along with our new vice chairman Carl Reader. “The challenge for HTFC is to maintain a competitive team at such a high level with limited financial resources. The club benefited from a benefactor for many years and for the last eighteen months they have not had this luxury and need to find ways to become commercially stable. “This is what myself and Carl will be focusing on. However, donations from friends of HTFC will still play a major role in competing at this level and in particular we are improving the ground with a new fully seated stand. “We would really like to reach out to the business community and anyone who would be interested in getting involved with our journey. The goodwill at the club is second to none, so anyone who gets involved will find it very rewarding. “There is real optimism at the club now and we have been made very welcome. Our aim to move to a community interest company has been supported. I got involved during the last four matches and it’s been a tough one, with the committee doing a great job in keeping them afloat. Ian Herring our manager did an amazing job on the smallest budget in keeping them in the division at the death. We started sponsoring in 2017 which was our 20th Anniversary supporting a local team. This will be our 3rd year. There are a few at work that go to the matches also I know quite a few people that regularly go. Sponsoring part of the kit, our company name is on the back of the football shirts, Olivia tweets the weekly results and follows on Instagram.
