Worthing
Networking Clubs, to those suffering from Dementia
related ailments who want to come along and chat. We
believe with a passion that we are here to serve Worthing,
not the other way around.”
Challenges/Ambitions
“Sadly, our biggest challenge will always come back
to the financials, making sure we have enough operating
cash and trying to build a surplus to fund the capital
investments that will improve and build our ground.
Like most other Clubs, we have a back log of repairs,
rebuilds and improvements - some essential, some
cosmetic and some required to drive up our Commercial
and fundraising activities.
We also recognise that any success in building
around young (however that be defined) regional talent
could leave us exposed to losing our very best players to
the full-time clubs. Whilst we are able to protect against
that to some degree, money from compensation is no
good if you have a depleted squad and/or you remain
young and inexperienced. So balancing the youth with
established seniors to always keep us at the level we are
playing at now and in the future, will be a challenge.
We want to see the community engagement grow, as
measured through the crowds and the levels of volunteer
input we get. We want to be financially stable and
sustainable, no secret there. We want our 1st Team to be
playing in the National League set up and our Ladies to
be playing in the Elite Divisions in the Southern/South
Eastern Region.”
