In order to replenish the body best, foods should be consumed within 45 minutes of excercise, as this is the period of time which the body is most able to repair itslef, as fast as possible. Foods and drink that are rich in glycogen are also key at this point.

While proper nutrition will not change a non-athlete into a professional, it does allow for an athlete to preform at their optimal levels, provided all other aspects have been met. Following these guidlines is the first step to improved ability and will move an individual one step closer to athletic success.
