Ithas always been known that tea has many health benefits. However, new benefits of tea have recently been shed light on. The tea benefits are due to its content of flavonoids—compounds that are antioxidants. Green tea especially is the best source of catechins, which are more powerful than some vitamins in stopping damage to cells and also have more disease-fighting properties. The consummation of green tea has been associated with reduced risk of cancers including skin, colon, breast and bladder.

Additional benefits of consumers of green tea include reduced risk of heart diseases. The antioxidants in the green tea block the bad cholesterol and increase the good one. Harvard’s Women Health Watch encourage drinking a cup of tea a few times during the day to increase antioxidants absorption.

Green tea has also been known t aid in weight loss since it increases metabolism. It could also helps regulate glucose levels, preventing high insulin spikes and resulting fat storage.
