It’s crucial to stay on track of the project. If you budget for one day and expect to finish in one day, then it’s critical you do so. Being in control of the set is also part of the photographer’s job – the safety, conduct and comfort of everyone is vital to making the shoot a smooth one. Although transitioning from a hobbyist to a professional photographer was a huge step into the unknown, it’s brought me nothing but satisfaction. I love what I do. There’s an immense sense of joy,pride and gratification when I see my work in print, in advertisements, packaging and knowing that I came from a place where only years before I knew nothing of the trade. When clients “ooh” and “aah” at my photos, it’s a huge sense of fulfilment to know I brought their vision to life. With a bit of passion and drive, it’s within anyone’s reach to become a professional photographer. Don’t forget to love what you do and do what you love.
