Council) certification used in area of sustainable seafood
production.
If you see this magazine for the
first time, you may ask the question, “Why another magazine?“, and
you have a reason to ask. There
are plenty of magazines on food quality and food safety topics.
However, from 20 years of auditing
experience, it is clear that there is a huge number of food
companies, having difficulties in following all necessary
information in this time of information boom. They are
constantly looking for information sources, which will
keep them acquainted in the important areas to ensure
their food safety and quality management systems are
well developed, implemented and up to date to the latest requirements of the standards applied.
To help the interested parties to use the Global Markets
Programme as possibility to certify the small and less
developed businesses, GFSI introduced a new online
tool, which is described in this issue.
This was the reason, QUALIFOOD, a company with decades of experience in consulting and auditing to GFSI
approved standards decided to publish the magazine.
The magazine is focused on key standards used in the food industry in area of food quality and safety. The GFSI`s
(Global Food Safety Initiative`s) approved standards
are one of the most important standards in the food
industry. You will find in our magazine regular updates
on the BRC, IFS, FSSC 22000, SQF, GlobalGAP standards,
together with articles describing the implementation
of individual requirements. The magazine (including its
Czech version published since 2001) is a long term media
partner of GFSI`s Global Food Safety Conference.
There is a large number of different certification schemes
available on the market that are applicable to the food
sector. We provide information about several of them. In
the last issue, we included an article in UTZ certification,
describing sustainable certification of certain crops such
as cocoa, coffee and others. To continue, we included
a similar article on the MSC (the Marine Stewardship
In his article, Tony Beeckmans, Segment Manager Food
& Beverage Industry, Atlas Copco Oil-free Air Division
discusses about the advantages of the ISO 22000 certification on F&B manufacturing suppliers.
Michael Green from soundbodylife.com gives readers a
detailed information on food labels to help readers better understand them.
The European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed
(RASFF) has been operating since 1979. An article in
this issue talks about the main activities of RASFF and
provides key information from the RASFF database over
the past years.
In regular sections “Food Industry News“, “Food Safety
Crises“ and “Events“, you will find updates on important
news, events, publications and crises relevant to the focus of our magazine.
I believe you will find this magazine useful in your daily
work. If so, the magazine will fulfill its goal, which is to
help the food companies by providing them important
and up to date information in simple, understandable
and practical ways. We decided on free subscription to
enable all sizes and levels of companies, from any part of
the world, access to information.
If you enjoy the magazine or any specific articles, we
would be happy if you help us by sharing them on social
media.
