An outbreak of fish poisoning in Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant ‘Restaurant Gordon Ramsay’ after a full-booked night 14th November 2011. All the customers effected had ordered the £125 each 7 course Menu prestige consisting of: Pressed foie gras with roasted veal sweetbreads and almond velouté, Ravioli of lobster, langoustine and salmon poached in a light bisque with a chervil velouté, Roasted fillet of Cornish turbot with coco beans, girolles, morteau sausage and fennel pollen, Cannon of Cotswold lamb with confit breast and braised shank, navarin of summer vegetables or Roasted pigeon from Bresse with grilled polenta, smoked ventrèche and date sauce, Selection of cheeses from the trolley or Agen prune crème brûlée with Granny Smith apple juice, Mango, jasmine and passion fruit soup, Blackcurrant, violet, fennel and yoghurt génoise. It is suspected that the cause of the poisoning is the lobster. We have spoken to one of the sufferers of this disastrous event and she said ‘I felt queasy and was sick in the toilets. Shortly after this whilst I was sat back down and slowly I lost all control to my arms and legs. My Mother called an ambulance and that’s where I found out I was suffering from a severe case of fish poisoning which can often be from the fish or shellfish consuming tainted algae or fish that have eaten tainted algae. Gordon has given £250 in compensation to all those effected and has made a face to face as well as a public apology but remains defending his restaurant and claiming it was out of their hands and he is pressing charges against the supplier of the lobster. Nobody as of yet has sued the restaurant.
