Getting to know...
Daniel Xu, Production Manager, Suzhou
I joined Glanbia in July 2007 during the construction of the nutritional premix facility in Suzhou. I was hired as the operations officer, taking overall responsibility for the warehouse, the maintenance department and daily production management. Prior to joining Glanbia I had worked for ten years in the food industry; in Lion-Nathan Beer Brewing, Kraft Food and Gandour Ltd. This means I have experience with beer, biscuits and chocolate! I had studied Computer and Information Management in University but my initial qualification was attaining a licence in Beer Brewing Technology. After joining Glanbia I trained in the German pre-mix plant (GND) for three months. With this experience I returned to China and helped implement the same standards to the new facility. I was promoted to production manager in mid 2008. I enjoy working with Glanbia. I get to be involved or be in charge of projects that increase business and allow me to learn new skills and implement learned lessons. It’s great to be involved in a team formed by people from different backgrounds and cultures, that is working together in a positive, collective manner.
