Recognition Glanbia Foods Recognised by Idaho Power Glanbia Foods’ Twin Falls production plant was recognised by Idaho Power with a $211,843 rebate cheque after making several substantial energy efficiency upgrades at the facility. Pictured receiving the cheque were (L to R) Jeff Williams, Glanbia Foods President and CEO; John Mutchler, Glanbia VP Supply Chain and Risk Astley, Idaho Power Regional. 2012 IFT Food Expo Innovation Award for Optisol 2000 GNIT captured the 2012 IFT Food Expo Innovation Award for its Optisol 2000 binding system for sugar reduction. The binding system is a milk protein concentrate that can reduce sugar usage up to 50% in many food applications, such as baked and chewy type granola bars, cereal clusters and other snack products. Glanbia DII, Virginia receive ‘Carbon Trust Standard’ award Glanbia Virginia became the first dairy company to receive the prestigious award that is a globally recognised certification for organisations that have measured, managed and reduced their carbon footprint. It follows a concerted effort by management and staff in Glanbia’s Virginia facility that has resulted in an 8.5% reduction in carbon emissions relative to plant output over the last three years.
