Are You Ready for a Challenge?
This September, Glanbia employees are being asked once more to dust off their hiking boots and raise money for Barretstown. We are seeking volunteers to participate in a choice of one of two challenges – the inaugural ‘Glanbia Four Peaks Challenge’, or the stand-alone challenge of conquering Carrauntouhil. The ‘Glanbia Four Peaks Challenge’ consists of climbing a peak in each of Ireland’s provinces in just three days. With an accumulative height of over 3,500 metres (11,500 feet), the climb will take in Lugnaquilla, Co. Wicklow (975m); Slieve Donard, Co. Down (850m); Mweelrea, Co. Mayo (814m) and Carrauntoohil, Co. Kerry (1,038m). Our ambition is to get at least 30 people to participate and each to raise a minimum of €400. This will be the third year that Glanbia employees have climbed Carrantouhil. Over 80 people took on the adventure last year in very wet conditions. We hope that a similar number will take part this year and we are asking each volunteer to raise a minimum of €100. The ‘Glanbia Four Peaks Challenge’ will take place on September 13/14/15.
