Opening the Door to High-Performance Compact Inline Capping Automation

As automation accelerates across global manufacturing, demand is rising for equipment that is precise, efficient, and adaptable. Food and drink remains one of the UK’ s largest manufacturing subsectors and producers are under growing pressure to improve output, reduce waste, and remain competitive. To meet this need, Adelphi Masterfil has launched the Powercap Inline Capper, a compact, cost-effective addition to its range, which includes its flagship Mastercap model, designed to make automatic capping accessible to a wider range of businesses.
Retaining the Mastercap’ s trusted core capabilities, the Powercap offers a smaller footprint and reduced lead times, enabling liquid filling companies to quickly integrate automatic capping even when space is limited. Its high efficiency and reliability result in improved throughput while helping cut waste and improve profitability.
Designed to handle cap diameters from 20 – 80 mm and containers from 500 mL – 25 L, the Powercap suits both liquid and food applications. With a capping speed of up to 40 units a minute( up to 2,400 per hour), it delivers fast, repeatable performance. Suitable for screw caps, presson caps, tamper-proof caps, aerosol overcaps, and inserts, the Powercap supports a broad range of packaging formats. Its robust 304 stainless steel construction ensures compliance in hygiene-critical sectors, such as food and beverage.
Productivity
Downtime costs UK food processing an estimated £ 4-5 billion a year 1. To improve productivity, the Powercap features fully automatic cap sorting and comes with a cap feed elevator as standard. Meanwhile, a‘ no container, no cap’ and a queue sensing functionality help avoid stoppages and reduce waste, while the Powercap’ s inline twin-gating system minimises splashes, container compression, and product waste during the capping process. Operator safety is built into the design with fully interlocked guarding around the capping zone.
One of the Powercap’ s standout features is its rapid, tool-less changeover system. Operators can complete a full changeover in approximately five minutes, minimising downtime and maximising throughput whilst supporting multi-product lines. Container handling parameters are easily settable and repeatable using indexed locations and mechanical position indicators. A magnetic hysteresis adjustable screw capping clutch enables precise repeatable torque control, preventing undertightening or damage to caps.
To ensure container fit and accuracy, Adelphi uses 3D scanning and printing to rapidly produce format parts directly from digital measurements. This approach not only guarantees precision but also allows replacement or new cap track and container format parts to be delivered in as little as three days, reducing dependency on traditional tooling and supporting more sustainable production.
Combining cost-effective, compact design, shorter lead times, and proven engineering reliability with rapid changeover capability, the Powercap is ideal for companies looking for the next step up in their capping capability and seeking a competitive edge in today’ s fastpaced manufacturing landscape, without breaking the bank.
