Nexus Packaging Builds on Success with Cutting-Edge Factory Expansion in Glasgow
Nexus Packaging, a leading manufacturer of industrial plastic containers in the UK, has announced the second phase of expansion at its advanced blow moulding facility in Glasgow, reinforcing its mission to bring innovation, energy efficiency and a new generation of talent into UK blow moulding.
The company’ s 57,000 sq. ft. facility, completed in 2024, is now home to nine all-electric Magic blow moulding machines. These machines are supported by the very latest compressors, chillers, blending systems and solar panels, forming one of Europe’ s most efficient and technologically advanced blow moulding operations.
Director Chris Wagner explains:“ We’ re now moving into the next phase of development, with plans to build an additional 20,000 sq. ft. of storage and install four new machines. These will be largely dedicated to custom tool designs, giving us greater flexibility and speed in servicing our clients.”
But Nexus’ s investment goes beyond machines, it’ s also about people.
“ The West of Scotland has a proud legacy of skilled engineering,” Wagner added.“ We’ ve been able to recruit a strong team of young technicians and machine operators, many of whom are working alongside experienced moulders from our original 1990s plant who’ ve returned to support this new chapter.”
The company believes this combination of youth and experience gives them a significant edge in an industry where many competitors remain rooted in outdated operations and ageing infrastructure.

Wagner is outspoken about the UK’ s need to reclaim its manufacturing base:
