Chase Plastics recycle used polythene back into polymer pellets for re-use in UK manufacturing .

Suffolk duo working together to reduce waste and protect environment

Local plastics recycling company , Chase Plastics , is working with Greene King to support the brewer to reduce waste at its brewery in Bury St Edmunds .
Chase Plastics , based in Brandon , Suffolk , will support Greene King ’ s sustainability commitments by recycling its polythene waste into polymer pellets , which can then be used to produce a variety of goods .
Contributing to a ‘ circular economy ’, the polythene waste , such as used packaging for beer ingredients , will then be recycled back into polymer pellets which can then be used in place of virgin polymers by UK manufacturers to make goods such as refuse sacks , construction films and transit packaging .
This approach will ensure that the polythene waste from the brewery is being reprocessed locally in Suffolk rather than being exported overseas , which eliminates significant shipping
