CASE STUDY CASE STUDY Johnston Logistics UK Environment: Logistics BayLED Eco TLT GET FIT Tomorrows Lighting Today! Financed Installation Today! UPGRADE NOW! Jason Pullen Warehouse Manager “The lights that have been installed are very good, they are instant, no delays and the energy savings of 75% we will make on our electricity bill are very good. The visibility is 100 times better than it was”. Johnston Logistics UK, a specialist provider of third-party logistics has just completed a new LED lighting installation using GG Lighting’s BayLED Eco Philips component powered high bay luminaires. Johnston’s remit to GG Lighting was to improve light levels for health and safety reasons and to significantly reduce energy and maintenance costs. The original installation consisted of 400W metal halide luminaires which were in use in excess of 7,500 hours per annum (8.5 months). The new GG Lighting installation consists of one-for-one replacement 200w BayLED Eco high bay luminaires fitted with passive infrared detection (PIR). On paper the energy saving is 50%; however in real terms due to the use of lighting controls energy savings will be in excess of 75% with a short 24 month payback period. The use of lighting controls also positively impacts service life which at an already impressive 100,000 hours (11 years) will yield huge maintenance savings. Due to the success of the first installation GG Lighting has now been requested to carry out a second. The resulting energy and carbon footprint saving was a massive 75% off of their energy bill excluding maintenance costs to purchase and install replacement lamps.
