BRIGHTER BITES COMES TO NTFB

BrighterBites, a North Texas Food Bank partner program, just completed a successful summer pilot program. The pilot program lasted for seven weeks, operating at three Project Transformation sites (Pleasant Mound United Methodist Church, Casa Linda United Methodist Church and Elmwood United Methodist Church). Together NTFB and BrighterBites distributed fresh produce to an average of 200 families each week.

The BrighterBites program manifesto is that if we give our kids something better to munch on, they will! BrighterBites feeds with impact, and is comprised of three pillars: access to fresh produce (30 pounds per family, each week), nutrition education, and a fun food experience.

Each week, NTFB delivered pallets of fresh produce to participating Project Transformation sites.
