In Focus\r\n\r\nA message from the Chief Executive\r\n\r\nWelcome to the first edition of our new Focus magazine. This magazine consolidates a number of publications previously produced by our department, to provide a single source of news and information.\r\n\r\nThe Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) is a large and diverse department that carries out important work benefitting many South Australians. Dedicated staff are committed to services and programs across a range of key areas, including social housing, disability, youth justice, multicultural, youth, volunteers and women. \r\n\r\nMore information about our department’s vision and key areas of work can be found on page 4.\r\n\r\nHousing SA is improving the way it delivers services to achieve its vision of “Connecting People to Place”, with the aim of connecting people to the services they need, as well as to their local community, see more on page 13. This edition also provides a range of general information relevant to Housing SA tenants.\r\n\r\nThe results of a survey looking at community strengths has been released, with very positive results across the state. The survey showed that the vast majority of South Australians feel safe in their communities and enjoy living in their local area.
