Twenty million acres of Amazon rainforest protected by the end of 2026.
That’ s the ambitious goal we set when we launched our Amazon Strategy. With support from our donors, we and our partners will protect an expanse the size of South Carolina within the Amazon rainforest and several neighboring, ecologically connected regions at an estimated cost of $ 40M.
The need for action is urgent. Every tree cut or burned to the ground brings the Amazon closer to a tipping point from which there would be no recovery. The Amazon rainforest would become the Amazon savanna.
To save the rainforest, we must protect its trees. With your help, we will do exactly this.
Every single dollar donated to our Brazilian Amazon Fund( BAF) goes to support our Amazon Strategy projects and ensure a future for the Amazon rainforest. Together with our BAF donors, we will protect 20 million acres from deforestation and destruction, helping to pull the Amazon back from its tipping point and safeguard the homes and futures for the staggering diversity of animals, plants, and people that live in and rely upon the Amazon rainforest.
