Nature Under Threat

From rainforests to coral reefs, rising temperatures are often only the beginning of the troubles caused by climate change.
Many discussions about climate change are dominated by concerns about rising temperatures. While this is a primary concern, the actual impacts of climate change are often more complex. From fires in the world’ s largest tropical wetland to beach-eroding storms throughout coastal regions, these impacts have real and devastating consequences for tropical species and the habitats they rely upon.
As scientists better understand climate change, the list of known and suspected consequences only grows longer. If climate change is left unchecked, many or all of these scenarios will worsen. But a different future is still possible.
We established our Rainforest Climate Action Fund( RCAF) to help make that future a reality by safeguarding carbon where it’ s already sequestered, thus slowing climate change and lessening its impact.
See pages 12-15 to learn about our Rainforest Climate Action Fund and how you can help save species, protect tropical forests, and slow climate change.
