DotA 2 or LoL ? Which MOBA ?
Defence of the Ancients 2 and League of Legends . Also known as DotA 2 and LoL . Both games are of the MOBA genre and both excel in their own ways . But there have been eternal debates on which one is better . Vicky Wu gives her in-depth thoughts on both games with unbiased opinions .
Here ’ s a topic up for discussion : DotA 2 or LoL ? They are both games where you have a base and you must destroy the enemy ’ s while protecting your own . Each side chooses a character to play ( DotA 2 chooses a hero , LoL chooses a Champion ) they level up to get stronger as they push forward and attempt to destroy the other team ’ s base . Towers and turrets stand in the way and must be destroyed . Minions and creeps are killed for gold . There is a variety of skills that you can use to destroy your opponent and items you can buy .
Both games are fun , but which one is better ? Let ’ s examine each of the points a good MOBA needs and compare them .
STAGES
Before I go into the points , I would like to state that DotA 2 is only in its beta stage while LoL is fully released . Many features will surely be implemented into DotA before release .
Graphics
Many complain that one of the games has better graphics and character design than the other . However , this is a matter of preference . I have put two pictures side by side of the current in game graphics as of 2013 . Take a look and see which one you prefer ?
