Not anymore. Violence, corruption, lust and war. The main factors of a movie in our time. Yet still directors and producers portray the happiness from the original film. This is sending mixed messages to our Harry Potter and Twilight generation.
Let’ s take 2011 production Red Riding Hood, the modern version of Little Red Riding Hood. In this film werewolves were used instead of wolves. Unlike the original story death and lust is a main factor of the plot line which shows teens a very unrealistic approach on the original story. Is this destroying positive images in the minds of our youngsters?
Hansel & Gretel witch hunters is the modern take on our old Brothers Grimm story. Here an immense display of violence and machinery is displayed; machetes and firing guns are used to kill witches.
