In collaboration with the Arc of Northern Virginia , United Airlines , United ’ s regional partner GoJet , and the Transportation Security Administration ( TSA ), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport hosted a “ Wings for All ” event on October 28 .
The event was designed to provide a realistic “ airport rehearsal ” for families reluctant to book a flight for fear of a challenging travel experience . It aims to ease the stress often experienced by people with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families when traveling by air . This interactive and educational experience allowed participants to navigate airport and airline procedures , such as passing through TSA security checkpoints and finding a gate . Participants boarded the aircraft , listened to crew instructions , and experienced inflight service while the plane taxied around Reagan National .
