GIFT GUIDE
BY JAYNE CLARK
Seeking the perfect memento of your trip to Washington? Look no further than the city’s
museum shops. You’ll find high design in a range of prices. Plus, the experience is bound to be
more memorable than buying from an outlet mall or an online flash sale. Some of our favorites:
NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART
Consider this the mega mall of D.C. museum
stores. The sprawling shop occupies a space
in the original neoclassical West Building and
continues in the underground promenade
that links to the 1978 I.M. Pei-designed East
Building. It’s a go-to spot for unusual bags,
scarves and jewelry. And if you’re in the market
for a masterpiece, this is the place. Copies of
some of the gallery’s best-known works range
from $3 for a small unframed print to $250 for
a framed print on canvas.
6th & Constitution Ave. NW
SLEEP MASK
Get some decent shuteye and make a
statement while you’re at it, with this Louise
Bourgeois silk eye mask.
